Mango, kiwi, plum and cherries gathered in a bowl, lit like a small feast. A study in the colour of ripeness.
The story behind the work
A discipline piece. Fruit teaches you everything — translucency in the kiwi, wax on the cherry, the bruise-blue of the plum, the impossible yellow of mango flesh. I floated the bowl on near-white so nothing would compete with the colour of the fruit itself. There is no message here, and that is the point. Sometimes looking carefully at a plum is enough.
