A suited man runs across a field of cloud toward a single burning star. A painting about ambition, faith and chasing the light wherever you've placed it.
The story behind the work
The same suited everyman from my other paintings — but here he is running, across cloud, toward a star that could be heaven or could be a stock ticker. I deliberately left it open. Whatever we have decided is our salvation, this is the posture: full sprint, dressed for the office, sure the light is just ahead. I painted the clouds thick enough to almost hold his weight. Almost.
